The standard framework seemed flawed to me – the excessive rigidity, hierarchical structures, and the cumbersome layers of control that ultimately served as a constraint to the decision-making process. It actually makes it quite an ungratifying place to be for employees. From their perspective, the impact they make is minimal, or if there is any impact at all, it takes a long time to see tangible results. It hinges primarily on longevity rather than performance, which, in my opinion, fails to adequately reward individuals who excel in a more immediate and time-efficient manner, as we commonly observe in large corporations. Following a more meritocratic model simply makes sense to me.
