Fabio Wardley

Heavyweight Boxing  ·  Ipswich, Suffolk

Fabio Wardley is the WBO Heavyweight Champion of the World and one of the most compelling stories in British sport. Born and raised in Ipswich, he only picked up boxing at 20, starting with four white-collar bouts before turning professional in 2017. What followed has been a remarkable rise.

With 20 wins from 21 professional fights and 19 knockouts, Fabio stopped former WBO champion Joseph Parker in October 2025 to become world heavyweight champion and was later elevated to full WBO champion when Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title. He is now preparing to make the first defence of his belt against Daniel Dubois on 9 May 2026.

20-0-1 Pro record
19 KOs Knockouts
WBO World champion
2025 Title won
A world heavyweight champion from Ipswich is exactly the sort of story Halo Athletes exists to celebrate. Fabio's journey shows what can happen when ability, belief and backing all meet at the right time.

He was later awarded an MBE in the 2025 New Year Honours for services to swimming and continues to train with Norwich Swan Swimming Club while pushing for more.

Hannah Turner

WBC Muay Thai ranked World gold medallist UK No. 1

Why are we doing this?

The Halo Way in action – We believe great teams lift great individuals. The same mindset that powers our platform and our culture powers this programme. Surround the right people with the right support and performance follows.

Pride in place – We are building role models right here in Suffolk. When local athletes win, young people see a path for themselves. That matters to us.

Community impact – Beyond medals, our athletes inspire school visits, club drop-ins, and content that celebrates hard work, resilience, and character.

Halo’s wider sports story – From Ipswich Town to university sport, we back talent and teamwork across our region. Halo Athletes sits alongside that bigger commitment.

What does support look like?

Funding to help cover training, travel, equipment, and competition costs

Promotion and celebration across our channels with video, photography, and storytelling

Connections into the Halo network where possible, including intros to partners, clubs, and opportunities

The aim to make a lasting impact

  • Performance – measurable gains in rankings, qualifying standards, and competition results
  • Pathways – more school and club activations that connect young people with real role models
  • Pride and reach – stronger recognition for Suffolk talent across national and global platforms
  • Community value – appearances, talks, and collaborative projects that lift our region

Get involved

The Bigger Picture

Halo Athletes is part of a broader commitment to sport and community in our region, alongside our partnerships with local teams and universities. We are here to set a new standard for how a tech company can champion talent and opportunity where it lives.
