[hfe_template id='1680'] Service Catalogue | HALO

Service Catalogue

The service catalogue is one of the largest areas of HaloITSM. It can bring together ticket types, templates, approvals and workflows to be displayed easily to your end users as services that they can request, subscribe to and get status updates from. We have many service requests pre-configured for you to use, edit and clone. They can be configured by going to the Services Icon on the far left.

The catalogue is divided in to Service Categories that you can edit by right clicking them on the left. By default, only the IT Service Category is visible on the portal due to the root service category restriction on the portal menu button (which can be changed by going to Configuration > Self Service Portal).

To edit an existing service simply click into the service and hit edit in the top left. The Details tab will allow you to change the name, category and summary of the service; The configuration tab will be where you can select which ticket type or template will be used when users are requesting this service. You can create as many new services as you like by clicking new in the top right or by cloning existing ones.

You can add many requests against one service by using the Add+ button. You can edit or delete a request button by using the pencil or trash icon. You can find out more about configuring ticket templates for service requests here. The User Access and Subscribers tab allows you to restrict who has access to the service and who can receive updates regarding the service. This is especially useful when thinking about monitored services.

Having a service configured to be a monitored service allows users to see service status updates, log incidents and subscribe themselves to updates. You can turn any service into a monitored service by checking the box "Is a Monitored Service (Track Service Status)" under the Configuration tab of that service. You can then use ticket-driven service statuses to automatically update the end user portal, you can learn more about that here.

There is much more configuration and customisation that can be done within the service catalogue so feel free to reach out to the team to learn more!
