Linking a Product to a Project Template
You can create a project from a sales order in a few easy steps. First head to Configuration > Tickets > Templates and create a template with the "Ticket Type" set to a Project ticket type (The project hierarchy set on the ticket must be "Project").

You can then link a product to a project template, which allows you to create a Project from a Sales Order.

Alternatively you can create the ticket template directly from the product screen ("New" button on the RHS of the Template Single Select).
Creating a Project from a Sales Order
Once you have linked the product, the below "Add to Project" button will show on the product line.

As there is another project on this order, you can choose to add to an existing project or create a new one. The project ID will then show on the product line.

The default options you can choose from when linking projects to orders, is set in Configuration > Sales Orders.
